Snack of the Day: Red Carpet Corn from Executive Pastry Chef Zac Young

Behind the Burner: Snack of the Day: Red Carpet Corn from Executive Pastry Chef Zac Young

When awards season starts up, the best thing to have on hand is a unique snack, guaranteed to win over your taste buds (and any party crashing friends). Instead of the usual beer-friendly cocktail weenies, reach for some crunchy, savory, yet sweet Red Carpet Corn created by Flex Mussels Executive Pastry Chef Zac Young.

Already known for his tasty pop-up doughnut shop in Grand Central Station, Young has gone above & beyond to create a phenomenal recipe (for those of you into that whole "bacon trend"...which I am) for a caramel saturated munchable that is star worthy.

Starting with brown sugar & working into the mix cashews, peanuts, bacon fat & bacon pieces, one can't help but enjoy each chewy, crunchy bite. And, if you're like me, you'll probably be stashing some extra (if there is any) in your desk drawer for some discreet office indulgence after the fact.

Tip: Make sure when you're pouring the caramel over the popcorn to watch the heck out because it is H-O-T hot hot hot! Wait for it all to cool down before consuming, it'll be worth it!

Product of the Day: Sir Kensington's Gourmet Scooping Ketchup

Behind the Burner: Product of the Day: Sir Kensington\'s Gourmet Scooping Ketchup

Labor Day is fast approaching, a day to kick back and relax and bite into a great burger. When it comes to condiments, forget the Heinz or Hunt's and head straight for Sir Kensington's. This "scooping" ketchup comes in jars that fits perfectly on dinner tables next to bowls of fried onions and plates of charred brats. Simply pick up a grilled bun, swipe some ketchup on the surface, slap on a patty and consume. A unique history and easy to read ingredients make this ketchup the one to look out for. Don't forget to try both flavors: Spiced and Classic!

Tip: For a delicious surprise, veggie style, spread a little Sir Kensington's Spiced Gourmet Scooping Ketchup on an Organic Sunshine Burger for an added kick.

Snack of the Day: Doc Popcorn

Behind the Burner: Snack of the Day: Doc Popcorn

My name is Kaitlin and I'm a full-on snack addict. As a youngster, I would sneak into the pantry for bags of chips and handfuls of Oreos. As I aged, I realized that my growing children's metabolism shut down to the point of non-existent and those cookies and snack cakes were heading straight to my, ahem, various body parts. I've searched high and low for a fabulous snackable that wouldn't turn me into a hippo and I found Doc Popcorn, freshly popped kernels of natural, unbelievably low fat flavors.

Doc Popcorn's ingredients are of the finest quality: natural cheese blends, organic cinnamon, Ghiradelli cocoa and organic vanilla. With flavors like Sinfully Cinnamon, Sweet Butter, Salt-n-Pepper and my favorite, Hoppin' Jalapeño, I'm never bored and constantly satisfied. My favorite part is the guilt-free snacking: one cup varies between 62 and 79 calories! Perfect for desk-side noshing.

Trick: If you want just a little crunch on your bowl of low cal fro-yo, sprinkle some Sinfully Cinnamon Doc Popcorn on top with a little low-cal chocolate syrup. It's hog heaven!
